Light & Sound Systems

Light and sound systems can be used in anything from small musical gigs to large amphitheater events. They are designed not only to amplify sound, light, people and objects on a stage, but also to add special effects when needed.

Equipment

There are many pieces of equipment that can make up a light or sound system. Lighting systems can include flood lights, spot lights, border lights, dimmers, switch boxes and control systems that connect to each light. Sound systems use mixers, amplifiers, speakers and control systems, while special effects or club systems can include laser lights and acoustic amplification systems to create a full sound from all directions.

Benefits

Sound systems are necessary usually in rooms with occupancy of over 100. This allows an audience to hear a speaker clearly. Lighting systems can be used to best illuminate a stage or to create theatrical effects through the use of shadows or colored lighting.

Types

There are many types of light and sound systems and they are all highly customizable. While theaters, concerts and clubs often use the most complex systems, smaller scale home entertainment systems are also popular for personal use. Surround sound speakers, for instance, is a popular in home media systems, as are dimmer switches for subdued lighting.
