Tips On Designing Flyers

Flyer design is all about strategy.

An effective flyer instantly grabs your audience's attention through images and entices them to read your content. These words have the ability to call the audience to action. Become aware of the marketing power a flyer can have. Designing flyers is simple, and it can benefit your company.

Attention-Grabbing Images

Find images that are dynamic, tell a story or simply glorify your product. The most engaging images are displayed in 4-color gloss and high resolution. Though this may cost more than your average black and white flyer, it will certainly be an investment toward grabbing the attention of your audience.

Words That Call to Action

Invite your audience with an urgent call to action. Rather than merely stating, "Our number is 555-5555," begin with "Call us now." Provide direct, concise language within your copy and place it so that the reader can see it. There's no point to putting your call to action in tiny font within paragraph format. Get people to see the main points of your copy by choosing a clear, large font. These will be your selling points. Limit your flyer to two or three fonts.

Arrangement

Place a large dominant photo on the upper half of your flyer. Remember, in flyer design, less is more: less copy and fewer images mean more impact to your audience. Either arrange it so that there is only one photo, or a dominant photo with smaller photos that are perfectly aligned and not cluttered. Alignment is crucial in creating a visually digestible flyer. Be sure to also keep your branding consistent by placing your logo where it is visible on the flyer.
