Win Sweepstakes

win sweepstakes

Sweepstakes are simple contests that are based on chance. Basically, you provide some personal information and the organizers then choose a random entry among all the participants. While winning a sweepstakes is a matter of luck, there are some things you can do to improve your chances.

Instructions

1. Read the rules well. Many sweepstakes make it difficult to keep up with the rules. Miss one single detail and you are automatically disqualified. This is especially important in mail-in sweepstakes, which often require you to send in receipts and other paperwork along with the official entry, or to use a specific size of paper (often a 3x5” card) to type your information.

2. Enter as many times as you are allowed, but do it at different times. For example, if you are entering store sweepstakes, don’t dump all the entry coupons into the box at the same time. Instead, come back on different days and drop 1-2 forms at the time. This will ensure that the papers mix in well.

3. Make your entry stand out. While there are no guarantees that these gimmicks work, many winners swear that using colored envelopes, folding their entries accordion-style or using heavier paper increases the chances that your entry will be picked among the many others around.

4. Try your luck online. One of the biggest advantage of online sweepstakes is that they don’t require any investment (no postage, no photocopies, etc.). The disadvantage, however, is that the number of entrants may be considerably higher because of the easy access. You can find free online sweepstakes by conducting a simple search, or you can try SweepstakesToday (see Resources below).
