Write An Art Commission Statement

Art commission statements can convey powerful messages.

Constructing a powerful art commission statement is essential in supporting your commissioned art piece. Whether it is a painting, sculpture or a work in another medium, the statement should always convey a clear message regarding how the piece will enhance the location where it will be placed and how it will directly relate to the surrounding environment. With care and precision, a well written art commission statement can fundamentally determine the fate of your art piece.

Instructions

1. Explain in the first paragraph how the art piece was made, who the artist is and the title of the art piece. Discuss the artist's personal and artistic background.

2. Discuss in the second paragraph what the art piece represents symbolically. Address how this representation, for example, directly relates to humanity, religion and all living things in nature.

3. Examine in the third paragraph the issue of why this commissioned art piece is suitable for the particular location in question. Also address how it may improve the environment surrounding the location.
