The Booths For Festivals

Themed festivals feature booths that sell unique items you may not find elsewhere.

It's hard to walk through a festival without running into dozens of opportunities to spend your money. If you are attending a festival, you can find booths that are themed for a specific festival or ones geared toward those of specific age groups. Part of the fun of attending a festival is visiting the large variety of booths and sometimes negotiating with the owners on the prices of their items.

Crafts

Crafts offer attendees an opportunity to buy something that is homemade to supplement the prizes they and their children win. Include the attendees in the fun with a booth where they can create their own crafts, such as painting a sculpture or assembling their own jewelry at the fair. Crafts can match the theme of the fair, such as swords for a Renaissance festival or wine glass decorating at a wine festival.

Games

Games supply entertainment for festival attendees. Choose games that match the age range of your guests. If you are going to have a lot of children, keep the games simple. Make it easy for each contestant to win a small prize. An example could be a duck pond where the child chooses a duck from a pool and gets the prize written on the bottom of the duck. If the festival is going to attract a largely adult audience, more difficult games with larger prizes may inspire them to play. An example of this could be a basketball shooting contest with the net far away from the shooter.

Travel Booths

Set up a booth at the festival to offer vacation opportunities to the attendees. These booths can be set up by the Commerce Department for a specific city or by operators of hotels or transportation providers, such as cruise lines. Timeshare sellers can set up booths as well to offer free weekend trips to your guests in exchange for visiting their resort and learning about the timeshares.

Food

Food at a festival can range from generic carnival food to specialized dishes to match the theme of the festival. Traditional foods include hot dogs, pizza, cotton candy, ice cream, funnel cakes and caramel apples. For an ethnic festival, such as an Italian festival, entrees such as strombolis and desserts, such as cannolis, are served.

Clothing

Don't forget to offer your guests a chance to remember the festival by purchasing clothing commemorating attending the festival. T-shirts might be a common option, but they aren't the only one. Hats or clothing accessories, such as scarves can be customized to include the name of the festival or match the theme. A winter festival could have the name of the festival and year on a scarf. An Irish festival might find hats seen on Leprechauns for sale.
