Paint A Store Window Sign

Paint a Store Window Sign

Starting a business can be a costly endeavor, especially for the little guy. One way to save some money is to paint your own sign on your shop window. But how can you do this if you aren't artistic? If you can use a computer and word processor, you are almost there!

Instructions

1. Start a document in your word processor. Begin with setting the paper orientation to landscape, and choose legal sized as the paper. Load your legal sized paper into the printer.

2. Look for the font you would like to use for your business sign. After you choose the font, type what you want to appear on the window. Use the largest font size, while keeping the lettering on one page.

3. Take a trip to your copy supply store, and ask them enlarge the paper to the size you desire for your actual sign. Normally this will require the enlargement to occupy several pages of paper. Make sure they make all enlargements the exact same percentage.

4. At your store window, use the masking tape to secure the enlarged pages on the inside of the window. Use a ruler and level to position the sign. If standing outside, and looking in, you should be able to read the sign taped on the window.

5. Go outside, and paint on the glass pane, tracing the outline of the letters that are on the paper. Carefully paint in. Use the rag to wipe up any mistakes. When you are finished, remove the copy paper from the inside of the window.
