Paste The Same Font In Microsoft Word

Press "Ctrl" and "V" to paste text.

When you paste text from a different program, a different document or a different section of the same document, Microsoft Word's standard paste settings keep the text's original font. If you want the pasted section to blend in with the rest of your document, then this creates a bit of a quandary. Although you could highlight the section and manually change the font, Word offers an easier way to paste in the same font.

Instructions

1. Highlight the text you want to paste, using the cursor. Press "Ctrl" and "C" on your keyboard, holding both keys down at the same time and then releasing them.

2. Click in the document in the place where you want to paste the text. Press "Ctrl" and "V" on your keyboard.

3. Press "Ctrl" on your keyboard. A small Paste Options menu will appear at the end of the text you just pasted.

4. Click the middle icon, which displays a clipboard and an arrow, if you want to change the pasted text's font to match the font of the surrounding text in your document. Or, click the left icon, which displays a clipboard and a paintbrush, if you want to keep the text's original font -- the font it had in its original source when you first copied it.
