Scrapbook Ideas For Men

Scrapbook Ideas for Men

While men and women are completely different, that does not mean we can't enjoy some of the same activities. Scrapbooks have been all the rage during the past few years. If you do not have an art supply store in your area, you still can find scrapbook supplies in many stores' craft aisles. If you want to make a scrapbook for one of the men in your life, just stick with some basic guidelines--scrapbook ideas for men focus on a simple and elegant look.

The Book

Do not buy a scrapbook that looks feminine. Avoid pink and yellow. Choose a sophisticated scrapbook with patterns that will appeal to a guy. For a simple and elegant scrapbook, select one with a solid color. Leather books with such dark, rich colors as maroon and blue are masculine.

Embellishments

Stripes and solid colors are appropriate for a man. For young boys, books that depict sports or athletes, such as wrestlers, will be more appealing. Women may like ribbons, decals and cute drawings. For a man, however, keep pages free of such doodles as smiley faces, captions with exclamation marks and such abbreviations as BFF and LOL.

Photos

Focus on what he likes--use photos of his car or him playing baseball. Include pictures of people he cares about. If the scrapbook is for your boyfriend or husband, include photos of the two of you together. Keep captions short and to the point. An alphabet stamp set can give his scrapbook plenty of flair without looking overly feminine. Below photos, write the date the photo was taken and the location.

Additional ideas

Scrapbooks should have plenty of room to add content. The recipient may want to add his own comments or photos. Include an elegant pen with the book, as well as some supplies that match what you used to decorate the scrapbook.
