Organize Labels Light Bulbs Nails And Small Items

Baskets come in various sizes, shapes and colors, making excellent storage solutions for small items.

Finding adequate storage space for small items such as labels, light bulbs, nails and other small items is a common struggle in most homes. Keeping the items easily accessible, yet out of sight, can be a challenge. While there are many storage systems available online or at retail shops, many homeowners may be surprised to find inexpensive, easy solutions right at home.

Instructions

1. Recycle butter and whipped topping tubs for storing small items. Use matching tubs to store different sizes of nails, and stack the tubs on a garage shelf. Wrap light bulbs in paper towels, and place them in a large tub with a lid. Place rolled labels inside a covered tub.

2. Purchase an inexpensive fishing tackle or lure box, and use the separate compartments to store nails and other small items. The separate compartments help you see the items clearly when you open the lid. Store the box in the garage or on a shelf, and access it when needed.

3. Fill an embroidery thread box with nails and other small items. Store the box neatly in a drawer or on a shelf.

4. Use an over-the-door shoe holder to store labels, light bulbs and other items that are not quite as small as nails. Hide this inexpensive storage solution out of sight on the interior of a closet or bedroom door. View your contents easily through the clear plastic pockets, which also cushion contents from breaking if you bump the pocket when opening the door.

5. Cut off the top half of a rectangular tissue box, and use the remaining half to hold sheets of printed labels or other small items that can be mixed, such as rubber bands, hair accessories, small kitchen gadgets or coins.

6. Search for baskets that fit onto available shelving. Purchase them at thrift stores, craft stores or yard sales. Use a larger basket to hold boxes of light bulbs; use a rectangular basket for office supplies, such as labels or pens.

7. Use a muffin tin as a storage spot for nails and small items. Stack several tins on top of each other on a shelf to make the most of your space.
