Remove Rhinestones

Rhinestones can be affixed to clothes or temporarily glued onto your skin and nails for an added sparkle to your current wardrobe. Whether you want to re-accessorize your clothing or it's the end of the night and you want clean skin, you will need to remove the rhinestones, which can be done by neutralizing the glue that is holding them in place. The rhinestones can then be pulled off and set to be used again.

Instructions

Remove Rhinestones From Skin

1. Wet a cloth with warm water. Add a few drops of face soap to the cloth and work into a lather.

2. Place the cloth on your skin over the rhinestones you wish to remove. Let the cloth sit for a minute.

3. Scrub gently back and forth over the rhinestones to work the water and soap under the stones. Remove the cloth.

4. Pick off the rhinestones using your fingernail. Scrub the skin under the removed rhinestones to remove any excess skin adhesive.

Remove Rhinestones From Fabric

5. Spread the clothing in front of you with the rhinestones facing up.

6. Dip a cotton swab into a bottle of rubbing alcohol.

7. Trace around each rhinestone you want to remove with the damp end of the cotton swab. Repeat five to ten times around each stone.

8. Wait 15 minutes for the rubbing alcohol to work into the glue.

9. Grip the rhinestone with a pair of tweezers. Pull up and away from the fabric to remove the stone. If the stone does not fully come off, rub the rubbing alcohol under any portion of the rhinestone that pulls away and wait another 15 minutes.
