Print To Ricoh Aficio With User Authentication

Authentication codes not only control printing costs, but also improve document security.

Ricoh Digital Copiers can do much more than just copy. Once connected to a network, Ricoh copiers can serve as a network fax machine, scanner and printer. Some businesses install authentication software that requires users to enter a code before sending a print job to a connected printer. Though authentication software varies by manufacturer, the process to authenticate is somewhat universal. Due to Ricoh's use of open architecture, most authentication software packages integrate well with Ricoh devices.

Instructions

1. Send document to Ricoh printer. Following the normal procedure as you do as you use when printing.

2. Enter your authentication code in the pop-up dialogue box. User authentication software uses pop-up boxes that require a user to their unique code to proceed with printing. Enter your code and network name if required by the authentication software.

3. Press "Send." If your code was entered correctly, your print job will be sent to the Ricoh printer. Authentication software may also track each print job that you send and the application from which you are printing. Some businesses place restrictions on employees printing emails or online materials, so be aware of company policies.
