Sell Original Art On Ebay

Sell Original Art on eBay

Selling original art on eBay is a simple task, but it involves some strategic planning. eBay sales require account registration with the site, as well as a PayPal account, so you can get paid for your art. You'll also need to create descriptive listings for each original piece of art to market it. Excellent art speaks for itself, but solid listings and detailed information can help you sell your art on eBay successfully.

Instructions

Setting Up Shop

1. Use a high quality digital camera to capture detailed pictures of the original artwork you want to list and sell on eBay.

2. Upload the pictures to your computer, via USB sync cable, so they can be available for your artwork listings on eBay.

3. Register for an eBay user account to list and advertise your works of art. Sign up for a merchant account at PayPal.com to receive payment for your sales.

4. Provide the same, exact email address and other personal information, for both accounts, to ensure accuracy. Follow the necessary prompts for each registration to complete the process.

Create the Original Art Listing

5. Sign in to your eBay account once you have verified your email address for both accounts.

6. Click the "Browse Categories" button on the next screen. Select the "Art" tab, choose the "Direct from the Artist" sub-category and narrow the search down in the final category list, according to the type of original art you are selling. Click "Continue" at the bottom to move forward to the listing page.

7. Create a title for your art listing in the Required Data form, then scroll down and provide information in the Item Specifics section according to the drop down menus.

8. Move down the page below the Item Specifics section, and click the "Add Pictures" link to insert the pictures you uploaded from the digital camera for that particular artwork. Locate the pictures on your hard drive and click the "Open" option. The pictures will be transferred to eBay for the listing.

9. Type a detailed description of the artwork in the blank space provided. (See Tips for description specifications and assistance.)

Provide Selling Information for Your Art

10. Set up how you'd like to sell the art, whether it to be by auction, reserve or direct sale, or by using the data forms and drop down menus provided in the Sales section at the bottom of the listing.

11. Type the email address you used to set up your eBay and PayPal accounts in the Preferred Method of Payment area below the Sales section.

12. Provide shipping details for the art. Use the drop down menus to calculate cost, identify the shipping carrier and estimate the handling time for the artwork, and then click the "Continue" option at the end of the listing.

13. Review the listing information on the following screen before submitting. Then select the "List Your Item" option. The art listing will then be posted to eBay for public viewing, as the item is now available for purchasing.
