Ideas For Fall Festival Booths

Set up a booth for pumpkin painting.

Fall festivals bring communities and families together. Focus on entertaining kids and adults with a variety of activities and games. Use your event to benefit a charity, to help fund a school project, or to bring neighbors together to socialize outdoors in the autumn weather.

Temporary tattoo and nail painting booth

Nail artists can give manicures in fall colors such as orange, yellow, brown and red. A hair stylist can braid pieces of orange or maroon yarn into strips of hair, or spray washable hair coloring in fall colors onto the tips of hair. Have an artist paint temporary tattoos in the shapes of pumpkins, turkeys, trees and cornucopias on arms and cheeks. For best results, make sure kids have adult approval before painting their nails or skin.

Squash Toss

Wrap several small squash with different colors of tape. Assign a different color to each squash. Have players toss rings around the squash. If a player rings a squash, have them pick a prize from a box color-coded with the same color as their squash. Another game is to have players compete to see how many miniature squash they can toss into a bucket. Provide a prize to the player who gets the most squash into the bucket.

Hay Dig

Set aside one booth where kids can dig through hay in pursuit of prizes. Set a time limit and allow kids to keep whatever treasures they find. Put small treasures including candy, tattoos, and stickers in plastic bags to protect them from debris. Mix spinning tops, bouncy balls, key chains and plastic animals in the hay, too. Make the process slightly harder for older children by blindfolding them before letting them dig through the hay.

Harvest Pie Maker

Acknowledge farmers and delight attendees with a booth to make simple pies. Have the fixings to make pumpkin or apple pies that festival-goers can make and eat at the event. Use no-bake crusts to keep supplies and time requirements to a minimum.
