Paint Aluminum Windows White

Aluminum windows tend towards looking unattractive and somewhat on the dated side. Unfortunately, replacing your windows tends to be outside the budget of most homeowners. The good news, however, is that aluminum windows are easily painted, and a simple coat of paint can make your windows and home look dramatically better at a fraction of the cost.

Instructions

1. Using your bucket of soapy water and cloth, wash the inside and outside aluminum window frames thoroughly. Use your razor blade to remove any soil that may be resistant to washing.

2. Once you have allowed the frames to dry completely, apply painter tape to the borders of the interior and exterior of the frame, protecting the glass and the surrounding wall.

3. Using your paintbrush, apply a layer of primer to the window frame, thoroughly coating the aluminum frames. Allow the primer to dry completely.

4. Once your primer has dried, use your clean paintbrush to apply your paint in your selected shade of white. Allow the paint to dry, and inspect as to whether it is necessary to apply an additional coat. Repeat as necessary.

5. Once your paint has dried completely, remove the protective painter's tape. If any paint has found its way onto the glass of your windows, you may use you razor blade to remove it.
